Manhattan may be one of the easiest places in the world to enjoy a snowfall. No cars to dig out, no roads to slip on. Building owners are required to shovel their sidewalks so, for us carefree denizens, it's just an opportunity enjoy the wondrous spectacle on the way to the weather-proof subway.

That is, of course, before the cars and buses turn it all into black-grey slush.

Hi Drew,

I'm originally from Cleveland, OH and know about getting more snow than predicted. We lived in a western suburb that was not in the snow belt so we wouldn't often see the type of snowfalls you're experiencing now.

In the winter here in Nashville I get white throated sparrows and juncos which keep themselves pretty well hidden in the back of my yard because we back up to woods.

That is, until it gets extremely cold(it's 11 this morning)or it snows. Then they're all over the yard looking for food. I try to put out a platform feeder on my patio with stuff they like and most of the time I can get them to come down and get some.

I know it can be a pain for a lot of reasons but enjoy your snow.
