Workin’ in Idaho!

written by Alex Lamoreaux

Anna and I are busy at work here in Idaho surveying for Long-billed Curlew in preserved grassland habitats near Boise. The birds are back from their wintering grounds and ready to start mating and nesting. Every day we go out and run survey routes for curlews but there are also plenty of other cool birds around, especially raptors. Red-tailed Hawks, Swainson’s Hawks, Ferruginous Hawks, Prairie Falcons, American Kestrels, Northern Harriers, Osprey, and (my favorite) Golden Eagles are everywhere, so look forward to loads of posts from the two of us concerning curlews, raptors, and anything else we can find.
