Harrisburg Yellow-crowned Night-Herons

written by Drew Weber

Justine and I stopped by the Harrisburg Yellow-crowned Night-Heron yesterday and quickly found 2 adults and one juvenile. I took some photos through my binoculars but Justine's photos (not surprisingly) turned out better.

You have some beautiful birds there. I’d love to see some of them one day.

Nice captures of the Herons peering from the foliage!

I’ve never seen Night-Herons before, guess I’m in bed by then.

I have Night Herons “hanging out” in my yard in Harrisburg. Even though they have eaten all our pond fish we still love having them as guests. We can always buy more goldfish, but we may never have a family of Yellow Crested Night Herons as summer guests again. By the way, this is not their first year in our yard. Two years ago they nested here.
