A quiet night of little migration

Regional Overview

Last night was not very conducive for migration across the northeast as winds blew from the WSW. You can see in the national map above (click on it to zoom in) that there was very little picked up on the radar anywhere in the northeast. Birds were probably moving, just not in densities that would cause them to pile up at migrant traps. A look at the base velocity radar shows that there was no strong directional movement, another indication that birds decided not to migrate en masse on the less than conducive winds.
